By submitting a referral and accepting these terms, you agree to everything below. The reward and deadline for the sale to close are shown on the referral form when you submit it.
1. Who can take part
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You may take part as an individual or a business. Current HTDNET employees and contractors are not eligible, and you may not refer yourself or a business you own or work for. A completed IRS Form W-9 is required before any reward can be paid. You must also be an approved Referral Program Member before any referral can earn or be paid a benefit, and membership approval is at HTDNET’s sole discretion, is not guaranteed, and may be declined for any reason.
2. Sending a referral
Submit your referral on our form with the prospect’s name, business, and contact information, and only refer people willing to be contacted. A valid referral locks that lead to you for 30 days. A referral does not qualify if the prospect was already referred, is already an HTDNET customer, or is already in conversation with us.
3. Earning a reward
The prospect must become a paying HTDNET customer within the timeframe shown on your referral form. The reward amount is shown on that form and may vary by service and change over time. Not every referral qualifies for a benefit—whether a referral is eligible, and any reward for it, are stipulated on the referral form when you submit it and recorded with your submission for reference.
4. Payment
Once your referred customer is set up and has paid their first invoice, we pay your reward within 60 days. If the customer cancels, fails to pay on time, or reverses payment before 60 days, the reward is not valid. We can pay only after we receive your completed W-9; taxes on your reward are your responsibility.
5. W-9 deadline
Submit a valid W-9 within 60 days of your referral unless we already have a current fiscal-year one on file. If not, the reward is forfeited. Keep your W-9 accurate and resubmit each year.
6. Customer privacy
Some services — including phone and VoIP — are subject to customer-privacy laws, including CPNI rules under Section 222 of the Communications Act (47 U.S.C. § 222). We may be unable to confirm or discuss specifics about the customer you referred unless they authorize us to share their information with you.
7. Your role
Taking part does not make you an HTDNET employee, agent, or partner. You may not quote prices, make promises, sign anything, or speak on HTDNET’s behalf. You are simply introducing us to people who may need our services.
8. Fair conduct
Do not spam anyone, and do not make false or exaggerated claims about HTDNET or our services. Follow all applicable laws when contacting anyone, including rules governing calls, texts, and email.
9. Confidentiality and brand
Keep any non-public information about HTDNET, our customers, or our pricing confidential. Do not use the HTDNET name, logo, or trademarks without our written permission.
10. Changes to the program
We may change or end the referral program, the rewards, or these terms at any time. The version in effect on the day you submit a referral applies to that referral until its timeframe ends.
11. General
Either party may stop participating at any time, and any reward already properly earned will still be paid. We offer the program “as is.” These terms, with the details on your referral form, are the entire agreement. Disputes go first to neutral mediation; if unresolved, to the courts of Fauquier County, Virginia. Governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
12. Your information and your W-9
The details you submit and any W-9 you upload are received and stored privately by HTDNET. They are not posted publicly and are not attached to our notification emails. We use them only to operate the Referral Program, verify and pay rewards, and meet tax-reporting and other legal obligations, and we keep them only as long as needed for those purposes. We never request your W-9, Social Security number, or EIN by regular email — please send it only by the secure upload, fax, or mail options provided. Our general data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
